Inhalt:
- The module offers instructions on the structure and symmetry of crystalline materials, as well as examples for typical crystal structures.
Conditions imposed by the three dimensional space groups on physical and chemical properties.
Determination of the crystal structure with atomic resolution by diffraction methods(X-ray, electrons, neutrons).
Synthesis of crystalline materials (single crystals and polycrystalline)
Physical properties of crystals
LAB: The laboratory courses offer training on the experimental methods using current research examples.
Students
are familiar with the aspects of symmetry in the crystalline state, with the concept of the reciprocal lattice and the Ewald construction
are familiar with determination of nanosized structures and disordered crystal structures
are familiar with basic aspects of X-ray scattering
are able to perform experiments with a single crystal and with polycrystalline samples and interpret results independently and present it to an audience.
