Empfohlene Voraussetzungen:
Es wird empfohlen, folgende Module zu absolvieren, bevor dieses Modul belegt wird:
M1: Fundamentals of Optics (WS 2020/2021)
Inhalt:
After introducing the basics of selected light-scattering techniques, their application in different fields of metrology are introduced.
The topics cover:
Principle of Lasers, Laser types
Dynamic Light Scattering (DLS) from the bulk of fluids for the determination of diffusivities
Rayleigh Scattering Methods for the measurement of temperature, composition, and pressure
Laser Mie Scattering for spray analysis
Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) for flow analysis
Raman Spectroscopy for identification of species as well as concentration and temperature measurements
Laser-Doppler-Anemometry (LDA) for flow analysis
Phase-Doppler-Anemometry (PDA) for flow analysis as well as measurement of particle size, mass flux, and concentration
Laser-Induced Gratings (LIG) for the measurement of thermophysical properties
Lernziele und Kompetenzen:
The students
understand the theoretical background of the different aspects of light scattering
explain the application of the light scattering techniques and what can be measured with them
are aware of special challenges behind the technical application of the methods
analyze and present research literature reporting on specialized applications of the light scattering techniques
