Optimization of Ward Allocation and Medical Specialist EducationA cooperation between the Clinic for Psychatric and the Chair for Pattern Recognition shall solve the problem of allocating doctors to wards.Part of the specialist education is a broad practical experiance on the different wards of the clinic. Two goals have to be achived: securing the medical support and assuring the education, without affecting the business operation. The planing of the optimal sequence and duration of assignment of the doctor to the ward is difficult because of the extreme large number of possible combinations. A software to solve this kind of problems has been implemented at the Chair for Pattern Recognition and is in use for several scheduling problems at the FAU.
In ths project the following issues will be targeted:
compilation of the requirements
selection of the suitable algorithms and parameters
implementation of a prototype
prototype evaluation
implementation of a fully functional web-based application
