Empfohlene Voraussetzungen:
Basic knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics is recommended. Also suitable for students in other disciplines (chemistry, physics, mathematics, mechanical engineering, mechatronics, computational engineering).
Inhalt:
Introduction to combustion technology: fundamentals, laminar flames, turbulent flames, combustion modeling , pollutant formation, application. Introduction to numerical simulation of flows with combustion.
Lernziele und Kompetenzen:
Students will...
gain in-depth technical and methodological knowledge in combustion technology, combustion modeling, pollutant formation and engineering applications
are able to characterize different flame types and evaluate technical applications with respect to efficiency and pollutants
can describe global reaction equations as well as simple flames with thermodynamic conservation equations
are familiar with the interdisciplinary approach at the interface of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics and reactive flows
have an understanding of methods of experimental and numerical combustion analysis
are capable of entering university as well as industrial research and development in current topics of energy engineering
are familiar with the development in the field of applicative and engineered combustion systems
