Entkerner: A system for Removal of Globally Invisible Triangles from large meshes A system for the removal of globally invisible triangles from a 3D scene was developed. The method works in two stages. First, the scene is rendered from several camera positions with OpenGL. Visible triangles are marked. All remaining triangles are tested with ray tracing. A set of rays is shot from the surface of each triangle in several directions. A triangle is marked visible, if one of the rays can leave the scene. The implementation was tested with real-world CAD data and performed exceptionally well. | Project manager: Dr. Roberto Grosso
