Prerequisite: Quantum mechanics and statistical physics.

Inhalt:

The study of non-equilibrium phenomena in quantum many-body systems is a very active field of research, with applications to the ultra-fast laser-induced dynamics in complex solids, quantum simulation on various platforms (cold atoms, ion traps Rydberg atoms), or phase transitions in dissipative driven systems. The seminar will cover a broad range of concepts and phenomena in modern non-equilibrium physics. Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

Students

• comprehend an interesting physical topic in a short time frame

• identify and interpret the appropriate literature

• select and organize the relevant information for the presentation

• criticize and defend the topic in a scientific discussion
