Inhalt
China has been accused of promoting authoritarian regimes in its neighbourhood. While the empirical record for a direct promotion of authoritarianism or a weakening of democracy is not yet fully established, we need to look at the indirect effects of China`s policies. The seminar discusses the impact of China`s Belt and Road initiative and uses certain case studies in South and Southeast Asia to discuss the overall impact of the infrastructure initiative
