Empfohlene Voraussetzungen:

Recommended: basic maths, especially statistics; fundamentals of signal processing and machine learning.

Inhalt:

In the seminar, students will analyse, present and discuss issues and topics concerning the usage of robotic artefacts and virtual reality environments for the rehabilitation and treatment of musculo-skeletal issues and neuropathic conditions related to the lower limb. This includes intent detection and somatosensory feedback for lower-limb prostheses and rehabilitation exoskeletons and exo-suits, VR environments for the treatment of phantom pain and stroke, and walking aids. Besides reflecting on contemporary literature, the students are asked to draw own conclusions and suggest directions for future research.

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

On successful completion of the module, students will be familiar with rehabilitation robotics and prosthetics for the lower limb, both theoretically and practically. They will also be able to deduce potential new research lines from recent developments.
