- Der Zweck des Seminars ist, die selbstständige Ausarbeitung eines wissenschaftlichen Referats zu einem vorgegebenen Thema aus dem oben genannten Bereich zu erlernen. Zum einen soll die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung mit industriellen Problemstellungen angeeignet werden, und zum anderen soll geübt werden, die Ergebnisse in einem 20-minütigen, freien Vortrag allgemeinverständlich zu vermitteln. Im Anschluss an den Vortrag beantwortet die/der Studierende 10 Minuten lang Fragen aus dem Auditorium. Das Handout zu dem Vortrag ist auf zwei Seiten beschränkt, wobei auf wissenschaftliche Korrektheit und angemessene Form großer Wert gelegt wird. Am maßgeblichsten fließen in die Bewertung Inhalt, Stil (Foliengestaltung, Rhetorik, Gestik) und die Einhaltung der vorgegebenen Zeit ein. Die Zusammenarbeit der/des Referierenden mit dem Betreuer basiert auf gegenseitigem Respekt und Entgegenkommen. Das Referat ist in selbstständiger Arbeit zu erstellen, während die betreuende Person die Bemühungen in die richtige Richtung leitet.

- Purpose of the seminar is to learn about the creation of a scientific presentation about a topic, provided by FAPS. On one hand, scientifically dealing with current manufacturing issues will be trained as well, as carrying it commonly comprehensible to the audience in an exactly 20 minutes lasting presentation. Thereafter, the presenter will face questions of the audience over the next 10 minutes. The paper is limited to 2 pages, in which scientific correctness is of great relevance. Mostly significant in terms of rating will be the content, style (slide design, rhetoric abilities and gesture) and finishing spot-on. The cooperation of student and supervisor bases on mutual respect and politeness. The presentation is to be done autonomously, while the supervisor will guide the presenter’s direction.
