Contents
The United States is electing a new president and a new Congress this year and the country could not be more divided. Divided along party lines, along wealth lines, along race lines and divided about the kind of future it wants for itself. In this class, we will explore the American electoral system as well as the key issues of this year’s election. We will also examine the stance of select candidates in both state and federal elections. To do that, we will take into account changes in the political landscape, the perception of the role of politicians, most notably that of the American president, and the development of bipartisanship in the United States.
