- Contents
- The seminar will focus on the internationalization of society, and more importantly of school education. Students will also focus upon concepts and measures for internationalization (international student and teacher exchange, international projects, bilingual and international curricula, extracurricular activities etc.). The effect of internationalization on a small island state, Malta, will also be considered. Students will discuss various concepts of international education and learn about different school types that provide international education. The seminar is expected to provide a deep understanding of effects of internationalized school settings on the socialization of pupils. Discussions will be held on today’s multicultural reality and an evaluation of whether schools are catering for this intercultural need will be considered. Students will be expected to think of ways in which this could be made possible. The seminar is designed for German and international students. The working language will be English. The students will get an opportunity to practise English for academic purposes and to develop their skills in academic writing and in analyzing academic texts and making presentations. The exam questions, which refer to this seminar as part of the module “Allgemeine Pädagogik II”, may be answered in English or in German.
