- Das Modul besteht aus zwei Teilen: einer Vorlesung und einem Seminar.
1. Die Vorlesung bietet einen fundierten Überblick über Entwicklung und Gattungen der modernen arabischen Poesie von der zweiten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts bis in die Gegenwart hinein. Dabei werden repräsentative Gedichte in arabischer Sprache behandelt.
2. Seminar: Das Seminar gibt einen Überblick über die Entwicklung der modernen arabischen Prosa.

- The module consists of two parts, a lecture and a seminar:
1. The lecture provides a well-founded overview of the development and genres of modern Arabic Poetry from the second half of the 19th century into the present. Representative poems will be treated in Arabic.
2. Seminar: After a general introduction into the development of the modern arabic prose, we will several representative texts.
