Optimization of optical measurement and image acquisition systems When designing complex optical measurement and image acquisition systems, there is a multitude of possible design decisions to be made in the context of a given problem. If the type of the object under consideration is known beforehand, a system adapted to this object type is desirable. It is the aim of this project to accelerate and support this design process. On the one hand, a software for the non-rigorous but fast simulation of acquisition results for given systems is developed. On the other hand, design variables of the system are optimized, using problem specific quality criteria that are applied on the simulation results. In the case of several criteria, multi-objective methods offer the possibility of an exploration of the design space. | Project manager: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Marc Stamminger
