Quality Enhancement of Spatio-Temporal Image Data

In digital imaging, the continuous real-world objects are mapped onto a discrete image plane. The quality of the resulting image is constrained by the hardware components of the imaging system. In many applications of digital photography and medical imaging, a high image quality is critically important. Image enhancement as a post-processing step enables an increase of the image quality without modification of the existing camera hardware. Spatio-temporal image sequences offer particularly promising opportunities for image enhancement.
