Low Cost Fundus Camera for the Third World

The aim of the Medical Valley Spitzencluster-Projekt (A04b) is to present a mobile demonstrator for a low-cost fundus camera for the third world. By a robust and easy to use device pictures of the fundus will be taken in the third world. The pictures are transmitted to western countries by mobile phone net. There the diagnosis is done by a doctor. The findings are reported back to the third world where only the persons needing a treatment are sent to a central care-center.
