- Inhalt

- Contents
- After an introduction with examples from chemical engineering, the fundamentals for the mathematical modelling of systems are discussed. Starting with linearization and using Laplace transform, one obtains transfer function or frequency response descriptions, which facilitate the analytical treatment of linear feedback loops. First, various controller structures and their properties are investigated and a stability criterion (Nyquist) is treated. A generalization to cascaded structures and state feedback introduces more sophisticated control concepts. After an investigation of feedforward control including disturbance compensation, which play an important role in process engineering, the lecture concludes with a chapter about process automation, including a discussion of stirred tank reactors and destillation columns.
