- After having finished the practical course, all participants should give an oral presentation about 15 min length plus discussion.

- 4 full-day experiments (semesterbegleitend)
Scale-bridging 3D characterization of a novel liquid metal catalyst
1.Pillar sample preparation using Laser-Ablation Device (laser cutter) & FIB & particle transfer onto tomography tip
2. Nano-CT: 3D characterization of prepared pillar structure utilizing high resolution X-ray microscopy Sample mounting, microscope alignment, tilt series acquisition (utilizing both large-field-of-view and high-resolution mode) & alignment & reconstruction)
3. 360° Electron Tomography: 3D characterization of even smaller pillar sample Sample mounting, STEM alignment, data acquisition, tilt series alignment & reconstruction
4. 3D data analysis: Visualization using Arivis software, (deep)/machine learning segmentation (Arivis), Virtual-reality (VR) segmentation (Arivis), pore & particle analysis
