Inhalt:

The module will start by an overview of the light-matter interaction. Then it will be given an overview of spectroscopic methods that can be used to study amorphous materials: X-ray and neutron diffraction methods, X –Ray Absorption Spectroscopy, Optical spectroscopy : absoption and luminescence, Vibrational spectroscopies.

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

The students shall learn about

  • light-matter interaction

  • spectroscopic methods and how they can be used to study amorphous materials

  • X-ray and neutron diffraction methods

  • X –Ray Absorption Spectroscopy

  • oOptical spectroscopy

  • absoption and luminescence

  • vibrational spectroscopies.
