Contents
Die Vorlesung behandelt Grundlagen und Algorithmen der Verarbeitung von Sprach- und Audiosignalen mit Anwendungen in Telekommunikation und Multimedia, insbesondere:
  • Spracherzeugung und Hören beim Menschen (elementare Psychoakustik)

  • Schallwandler: Mikrophone und Lautsprecher

  • Quellencodierung für Sprache und Audiosignale: Methoden und Standards (GSM, ISO-MPEG)

  • Spracherkennung

  • Signalverbesserung (Geräuschbefreiung, Echokompensation, Enthallung)

The course concentrates on algorithms for speech and audio signal processing with applications in telecommunications and multimedia, especially
  • Background: Human Speech Production and Hearing

  • Signal Representation for Speech and Audio

  • Source Coding for Speech and Audio: Methods and Standards (GSM, ISO-MPEG)

  • Fundamental Concepts of Automatic Speech Recognition

  • Signal Processing at the Acoustic Human-Machine Interface (Echo cancellation, Noise Reduction, Beamforming,...)

  • Fundamental Concepts of Speech Synthesis

  • Measuring Quality of Speech and Audio

  • Emerging Applications (e.g., Audio Indexing)
