This is a journal club seminar dedicated to discussion of recent papers in astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and other topics related to research at ECAP. The class is for bachelor's (after 5th semester) and master's students. Prior knowledge in astrophysics is not necessary.

comprehend an interesting physical topic in a short time frame
identify and interpret the appropriate literature
select and organize the relevant information for the presentation
compose a presentation on the topic at the appropriate level for the audience
give a presentation to a scientific audience and use the appropriate presentation techniques and tools
criticize and defend the topic in a scientific discussion
Literatur:
Primary literature will be provided by the supervisors of the individual topics.
Bemerkung:
This is a journal club seminar dedicated to discussion of recent papers in astrophysics, astroparticle physics, and other topics related to research at ECAP. The class is for bachelor's (after 5th semester) and master's students. Prior knowledge in astrophysics is not necessary. The participants will have to prepare one 45 minute long presentation during the semester. The topics of the Journal club will be linked to the ECAP seminar that will follow the journal club: https://ecap.nat.fau.de/index.php/news-and-events/seminar/ The ECAP seminar is a part of the module and its attendance is strongly encouraged. The class will take place once in two weeks, typically in connection with the ECAP seminar. The final grade will be based on the content and quality of the presentation. The presence in classes is required in order to get the credit.
