- Contents
- The application of quantum field theory to condensed matter provides a powerful and elegant way to study how the collective behavior of many particles leads to the emergence of new physics, starting from the description of the harmonic crystal in terms of a gas of free Bosons (phonons), to topological order which can host exotic particles with fractional statistics.
Topics: Functional integral formulation of Quantum Field theory, Kondo effect, Fermi liquid theory, broken symmetries, integer and fractional quantum Hall effect, Laughlin wavefunctions, Chern-Simons field theory, Non-equilibrium systems.
