- Contents
- Um die Eigenschaften eines Kristalls oder eines Moleküls verstehen zu können, muss man seine geometrische Struktur kennen. Diese kann aus Beugungsexperimenten bestimmt werden. Hier können Messungen an einzelnen Kristallen, an pulverförmigen Proben und in naher Zukunft mit einem freien Elektronenlaser auch an einzelnen Molekülen durchgeführt werden. Neben den Methoden für 'schöne' Kristalle werden auch Methoden für nanoskalige und nicht gut geordnete Materialien behandelt werden.

- In order to understand the properties of a crystal/ a molecule, one needs to know its geometric structure. This geometric structure can be derived from diffraction data. Both, experiments with a single crystal and with polycrystalline samples can be used. In the near future free electron lasers willl be used to study even single molecules instread of extended crystals. A special focus will be placed on the determination of nanosized structures and disordered crystal structures.
