- ECTS information:
- Title:
- Excercises to CAE of Sensors and Actuators
- Contents
- In this exercise, the students will learn step by step all the necessary tasks for sucessfully performing numerical simulations of electromechanical sensors and actuators. In the first part of the exercise, the students will perform practical simulations of electromagnetic, mechanical and acoustic fields. In a second part, groups of 2 - 3 students will work together to analyze a sensor or actuator (e.g. eddy current sensor, capacitive distance sensor, temperature sensor, piezoelectric drive, etc.) by help of numerical simulation. The preprocessing (geometry, boundary conditions, mesh generation, etc.) and the postprocessing (visualization of physical fields) will be done by using GiD, the numerical simulation will be performed by using CFS (Coupled Field Sensor) developed at the department.
