Inhalt:
The class covers social and technological aspects of innovation technologies.
As a future core technology, the semantic web will serve as a basis for linking different types of technologies across the boundaries of socio-technical systems. The lecture will thus explore social, organizational theory and technical concepts around a semantic web as an innovation technology.
Social and organizational theory will amongst others contain:
Systems theory, semiotics and communication theory,
Basics of open innovation, open research, interactive value creation and open evaluation,
Legal and societal aspects,
Aspects regarding organizational knowledge creation (e.g. sensemaking, practicing, frames of reference)
The technological aspect of the class will deal with:
Theory, Infrastructure and underlying technologies of the world wide web from web 1.0 to web 3.0
Web scripting and markup languages and associated design theory (e.g.: PHP, JavaScript, XHTML, XML, OWL, RDF, RDFa, CSS)
Thematic problems within publishing, filtering & selection and quality control
Lernziele und Kompetenzen:
Students
can explain the process of designing innovative artefacts to extend human as well as organizational capabilities and to solve problems within organizations and industries.
can describe both social and technological aspects of various innovative technologies.
can apply the design science research method, build artifacts and evaluate them, around a given theme.
can explain and apply the design science paradigm.
can use information technology for managerial purposes and effectively communicate this knowledge.
know innovative technologies in the context of artificial intelligence and augmented reality that can link and enable different types of innovative technologies across the boundaries of socio-technical systems. They can adopt this knowledge in practical work on design problems, which will be related to the usage of robotic process automation.
