- Die Vorlesung ist eine Einführung in die grundlegenden Probleme der Diffusion und Wärmeleitung auf dem Gebiet der Gläser und der Keramik.
Im einführenden Teil werden die mathematischen Grundlagen vorgestellt, wie parabolische partielle Differentialgleichung, Anfangs- und Randbedingungen sowie spezielle Lösungsansätze. Aufbauend auf diesen Grundlagen werden zahlreiche praktische Probleme untersucht wie Aufheizen und Kühlen von Gläsern und Keramiken, thermisches und chemisches Vorspannen, Ionendiffusion und Trocknungsprozesse. Auch numerische Verfahren wie die Differenzen Methode oder Finite Element-Verfahren werden vorgestellt.

- Gymnasiumskenntnisse in Physik, Chemie und Mathematik
- Contents:
- Einführung in nicht-metallische, anorganische Materialien (Glas, Keramik, Composite). Es werden die materialwissenschaftlichen Grundbegriffe eingeführt und wesentliche Aspekte des Strukturaufbaus, der Mikrostrukturbildung, sowie der Herstellung und der anwendungsrelevanten Eigenschaften dieser Materialgruppe vorgestellt. Jedes Kapitel stellt zur Vertiefung exemplarisch ein wichtiges Anwendungsfeld vor (Gläser: optische Nachrichtenfaser; Keramik: medizinische Implantate; Composite: moderne Bremsensysteme). Die Gemeinsamkeiten und charakteristischen Unterschiede zu den Materialgruppen der Metalle und Polymere werden erläutert.

- Die Vorlesung stellt den Zusammenhang zwischen physikalischen Grundlagen von Festkörpern und der technischen Nutzung dieser Effekte in Werkstoffen her. Neben den Eigenschaften der Materialien werden Herstellverfahren und Anwendungen ausführlich beschreiben.
Teil I: Magnetische und elektrisch leitende Keramiken.
Gliederung: Grundlagen der magnetischen Eigenschaften und elektrischen Leitfähigkeit. Magenetokeramik auf Basis von Weich- und Hartferriten. Leitende Keramiken: Anionleiter wie Sauerstoffsensoren, Hochtemperatur-Brennstoffzellen, Kationleiter wie Natriumschwefelbatterie, Elektronenleiter wie Heizelemente / Elektroden, ohmsche Widerstände, temperaturabhängige Widerstände wie Heiß- und Kaltleiter, spannungsabhängige Widerstände wie Varistoren, gasabhängige Widerstände wie Gassensoren und Hochtemperatursupraleiter.
