Inhalt:
Signal Pre-Processing
Two-dimensional discrete Fourier transform, two-dimensional linear filtering, rank order and median filtering, erosion, dilation, opening, closing, bi-linear and spline interpolation
Features of Image and Video Signals
Amplitude features, color, texture co-occurrence matrix, autoregressive moving average texture models, edge detection using Roberts, Sobel, and Laplace operator, chain code, tangent space description, Fourier descriptor, projection profile, skeleton and distance transform, motion vector fields, estimation of non-translational motion
Decomposition of Image and Video Signals
Amplitude thresholding, K-means clustering, Bayes classification, split and merge segmentation, Markov and Gibbs random fields, maximum a posteriori segmentation, shot detection, object tracking, combined segmentation and motion estimation
Content-Based Image and Video Coding
Scan-line coding of shapes, quad-tree shape coding, pixel-wise shape coding using context, texture coding for arbitrarily shaped regions, coding of transparency maps, region-based video coding
Object- and Content-Based Multimedia Standards
Coding of audiovisual objects in MPEG-4, multimedia description interface with MPEG-7
Lernziele und Kompetenzen:
Die Studierenden
erklären das Prinzip der zwei-dimensionalen linearen Filterung für Bildsignale
berechnen und bewerten die zweidimensionale diskrete Fourier-Transformierte eines Bildsignales
testen die Wirkung von Rangordnungs- und Medianfiltern an Bilddaten
bestimmen vergrößerte diskrete Bildsignale mit Methoden der bilinearen und Spline-Interpolation
überprüfen Bilddaten auf ausgewählte Textur-, Kanten- und Bewegungsmerkmale
segmentieren Bilddaten durch Programmierung von einfachen Klassifikations- oder Clustering-Verfahren
erläutern und beurteilen Methoden für die objektbasierte Codierung von Bild- und Videosignalen
veranschaulichen und bewerten die maßgeblichen internationalen MPEG-Standards zur inhaltsbasierten Videocodierung
