Lectures:


Inhalt:

  • The course covers the basics of mechanical process engineering and particle technology. Fundamental topics to be considered include the definition of particles and particle ensembles according to size, shape and distribution as well as aspects of particle motion, mixing, separation and comminution.
  • Based on the theoretical basis, technically relevant processes and numerical tools will be presented, including fixed and fluidized beds, dimensional analysis, population balances etc.

  • The associated exercises and homework cover all topics and allow students to develop their understanding independently and through guidance from the course tutors

Lernziele und Kompetenzen:

The lecture enables students to discover and explore the fundamental aspects of particle technology, a critical component of product engineering. The lecture aims to provide students with both theoretical understanding and process implementation know-how. Weekly homework and tutorials helps students to apply what they have learned and independently to solve problems.
