Inhalt:
Content:
The module ‘Electrochemical Energy Applications’, deals with electrochemical systems, such as fuel cells, batteries or electrolysis cells that are promising for the global energy transition. The content of the module encompasses: thermodynamic and kinetic properties of electrochemical devices, as well as a review of electrochemical characterization techniques of electrochemical cells. Next, different systems like fuel cells, electrolyzers and batteries are thoroughly reviewed in terms of functioning, materials and a basic economic assessment of their applicability.
While in the lecture basic knowledge is imparted, different tasks are fulfilled in the exercise to deepen an understanding of the underlying principles of the topics covered in the lecture.
