- Contents
- This seminar will focus on a comparison of English and German in various areas of linguistic description and will raise issues connected to the learning and teaching of English as a foreign language.
Apart from "obvious" topics such as pronunciation, semantics and grammar particular emphasis will be placed on the question of idiomaticity. The aim is to widen the traditional scope of contrastive linguistics by taking into account recent insights gained from corpus linguistics and cognitive linguistics.
