Computational Soft Matter Physics comprises topics studied in soft condensed matter physics and numerical methods employed there. In particular, topics include active particles and swimmers, biological systems such as cells and membranes, colloids, foams and other cellular materials, mesophases such as minimal surfaces, granular materials and packing problems, etc.; methods studied include computational fluid dynamics, Monte Carlo and molecular dynamics techniques, and numerical optimization methods.
A seminar talk may be accompanied by a numerical project in the associated tutorial class.
