Inhalt:
The physics of quantum magnets comprises a plethora of exciting phenomena like quantum phase transitions, complex magnetic orders, frustration, topological phenomena as well as fascinating particles with exotic statistics or fractional quantum numbers. Such correlated quantum many-body systems are mainly studied and understood by a variety of numerical approaches. Goal of this seminar is to gain an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of various numerical techniques which are currently used and developped in the research on quantum magnetism. Mögliche Themen:
Exakte Diagonalisierung / exact diagonalization (ED)
Quanten-Monte-Carlo Simulationen / quantum Monte Carlo simulations (QMC)
Dichtematrixrenormierungsgruppen / density matrix renormalization ground (DMRG)
Tensornetzwerkzugänge - iPEPS / tensor networks - iPEPS
