Beschreibung der Arbeit:
Motivation:
Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a new technology for Ethernet with the goal of limiting end-to-end delay and jitter and preventing packet loss. Therefore, it introduces various queueing and forwarding mechanism, one of them is called “Credit-Based Shaper” (CBS) and works similar to Deficit Round Robin. This scheduler can be combined with another scheduler called “Time-Aware Shaper” (TAS) which opens and closes queues to allow or prevent them from sending. However, the behavior of the CBS in combination with TAS has not been defined in detail yet.

Problem Definition:
The behavior of the CBS in combination with TAS has been analyzed in literature before but only if the packets are not preempted. Preemption means that the transmission of a packet can be stopped and continued later. This topics includes two parts: a theoretical discussion about the effect (orientated to the existing work) of CBS and TAS with preemption and a implementation as proof of concept. If only a project is done, only one of the two parts can be considered.
