Beschreibung der Arbeit:
Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) is a new technology for Ethernet with the goal of limiting end-to-end delay and jitter and preventing packet loss. Thereby, previously, low-latency communication has been scheduled using synchronized gates. This also required a strict synchronization of all end-devices, which cannot be guaranteed in many scenarios, e.g., when used in the context of 5G. Therefore, a heuristic is required which also considered the asynchonity of end-devices. This topic is highly relevant in the current research community of real-time communications.
The project should develop this heuristic. The delay calculation library is implemented in Python, but an interface to MATLAB exists as well. So both programming languages are possible. Finally, several experiences with this heuristic can be conducted to test its applicability for realistic scenarios.
To face this problem, we have developed a library which can already calculate the delays for non-synchronized end-devices with synchronized gates. Now, a simple heuristic is required which checks for different configurations whether all flows keep their deadline. The heuristic should stop its search, once all flows are reserved.
