Calibration of Time-of-Flight Cameras

Time-of-Flight sensors represent a relatively new imaging modality which are mainly used in 3D real-time applications. Next to a regular photogrammetric calibration, or more specifically the estimation of a model which describes such a camera, these cameras also require the calibration of their distance measurements. The reason for this additional calibration step is a significant number of effects which may deteriorate the measurement accuracy of these sensors.

The goal of this project is to investigate the sources of these errors, to find models for these effects and to develop methods which can be used to increase the measurement accuracy of ToF cameras.
