Embedded Computing for Advanced Signal Processing in Cars (ECAS)

Localization Systems, e.g. required for Driver Assistance Systems or future fully autonomous vehicles, are already standard mechanisms in many private and industrial sectors. Managing radar, lidar and optical sensors is a computational intensive task that has to be provided by heterogeneous embedded systems. Within this project basic algorithm requirements are analyzed and a suitable hardware platform for them is created.
The project is done with Infineon AG, a manufacturer of chips for the automotive market. XKRUG GmbH is a company offering development platforms and prototypes for cars. Such a development platform is intended as a demonstrator for this project. Finally, the chair of computer science 3 (computer architecture) is responsible for investigating the algorithms and finding the correct hardware composition.
Project manager:
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Dietmar Fey
