Inhalt:

In the seminar, journal papers from the field of soft matter physics are discussed. The focus in the summer term is on non-equilibrium systems. In non-equilibrium, phenomena can occur that according to equilibrium theories should be impossible. Furthermore, we want to discuss how theories can be extended to deal with systems even far from equilibrium. Topics will probably include theoretical approaches like linear response theory, the Jarzynski relation, or fluctuation theorems in general, as well as systems like driven granulates, active particles, and slowly-relaxing glasses or gels. This is a joint seminar offered by members of the Institute of Theoretical Physics 1 (Nat. Fak.) and the Institute for Multiscale Simulation (Tech. Fak.). If you want to participate in the seminar, please write an e-mail to michael.schmiedeberg@fau.de
