- Voraussetzungen / Organisatorisches
- Students from all faculties as well as Gasthörer, for whom
term papers and presentations are not required, are welcome in this class.
Entry requirements: placement test result "Level 4" OR at least one course at Level 3 completed
- Inhalt
- In this integrated course, reading, writing, speaking and listening skills will be practiced in content-based activities. An emphasis will be placed on the humanities, specifically politics, literature, history, and film, in the context of U.S. and U.K. cultural studies. Other topics such as music and the visual arts may be covered, depending on student interest. Language and style typically used in research papers, close reading, and literary analysis will be practiced.
Assessment: Students will be required to complete weekly homework and a short paper (3-5 pages) on a topic of their choice.
