1. Introduction – Current topics in electronic materials, Review band structure, electrical conductivity & Fermi energy
2. Microelectronics (Silicon) – Semiconductor basics, MOSFET & Si-SiO2 interface
3. Optoelectronics (Compound Semiconductors) – Materials & light emitting diodes (LEDs), Supplement - band structure ("direct” and "indirect” semiconductors), laser diodes (LDs), CD-ROM
4. Amorphous Semiconductors – TFT’s (application in displays), Supplement - Display Technology
5. Polycrystalline Semiconductors – Photodiodes and solar cells
6. Dielectrics – DRAM-capacitor
7. Metals
8. Superconductors – "zero resistance cables” and „frequency filters”
9. Organic Semiconductors – OLED and OFET
10. Magnetic Data Storage – Hard-disc and magnetic tape recording, MRAM and GMR-sensors
