- Inhalt
- While East Asia is considered to be a highly relevant region in terms of economic development, its political and social dynamics do not feature as prominently in media networks. Yet, from an international relations perspective East Asia constitutes one of the most exiting regions as its political diversity and interactions provide highly interesting cases that may challenge or confirm existing political science theories. Against this background and based on hypotheses derived from “Western” and “Asian” international relations theories this seminar seeks to analyse the international politics of Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia by looking at its actors (political systems, regional institutions), structures (economic interdependencies, hegemonic relations) and processes (regional integration, development).
