- Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all winter term classes will be taught online.
The Proseminar/Mittelseminar Linguistics belongs to the following modules in the indicated degree programs:
BA English and American Studies: Zwischenmodul II Linguistics. (Requirements: completed Zwischenmodul I: Thematisches Kombinationsmodul) Lehramt Englisch an Gymnasien: Zwischenmodul L-GYM Linguistics. (Requirements: completed Basismodul Linguistics) Lehramt Englisch an Grund-, Haupt- und Realschulen: Seminarmodul L-UF Linguistics. (Requirements: completed Elementarmodul Linguistics)
- Inhalt
- The word is commonly regarded as the most central unit of language. In fact, for most people language consists of words. In this seminar we will discuss various aspects of English lexicology from the form and meaning of words to the historical development of the English lexicon and the description of words in dictionaries.
Participants will be required to give a presentation in class und hand in a written assignment.
Due to the corona situation, the course will take place online in Zoom. Further information will follow in due course.
