Inhalt
How can “passive” reading and listening tasks be turned into real activities that at the same time add to the development of the so-called “active skills” ofspeaking and writing, i.e. the development of communicative skills?

First, this seminar aims to give an overview on the various theoretical concepts of how toteach (especially receptive) linguistic skills in the EFL classroom. Practical reading and listening strategies will be explained and discussed.

Building on that, special attention will be drawn to the teacher’s perspective on how to use different types of media products (e.g. video clips, podcasts, newspapers) as authentic linguistic resources that can be transformed into teaching materials helping to improve (and bridging the gap between) receptive and productive skills.
