- Das PS Linguistics gehört in folgenden Studiengängen jeweils zu folgenden Modulen:
BA English and American Studies (neu): Zwischenmodul II Linguistics. (Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Zwischenmodul I: Thematisches Kombinationsmodul) Lehramt Englisch an Gymnasien (neu): Zwischenmodul L-GYM Linguistics. (Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Basismodul Linguistics) Lehramt Englisch an Grund-, Haupt- und Realschulen (neu): Seminarmodul L-UF Linguistics. (Zulassungsvoraussetzung: Elementarmodul Linguistics)
- Inhalt
- This class will build upon the knowledge gained in the Grundseminar and Aufbauseminar. We will discuss topics such as verb complementation/valency, phrasal and prepositional verbs, word classes, grammaticalization, and means for handling information structure in the sentence. In particular, we will focus upon and compare the approaches of A Comprehensive Grammar of the English Language (Quirk et al. 1985) and Herbst/Schüller's Introduction to Syntactic Analysis: A Valency Approach (2008). One further area of interest is the use of grammatical terminology in grammars and school books.
