- Inhalt
- This lecture course is aimed primarily at advanced students. It offers a comprehensive survey of the major canonical writers of the postcolonial novel. Following a brief introduction to influential theoretical models (by E. Said, G.C. Spivak, H.K. Bhabha, and others) used to discuss postcolonial literature, the course will then discuss novels written by authors from Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Australia and New Zealand, the Caribbean, and indigenous communities in North America. Offering both a broad survey of important writers and books, the lecture will also offer detailed readings of individual novels. A course outline, bibliography, and some electronic readings will be made available through StudOn by the beginning of the semester.
